The Prudent Shepherd began with a prayer and an assignment: make soap.

I started with my sons, athletes who needed to wash away the day’s sweat and buildup without neglecting the skin that had endured the demands of training.

As three generations of my family used those first bars, my understanding of the field expanded. It reached beyond athletics to work, school, home, and caring for others. Different ages. Different routines. Different responsibilities. Each person had a life to carry and the same daily need to cleanse and care for their skin.

That need became the foundation of The Prudent Shepherd: fragrance-free soap to cleanse and body balm to help reduce moisture loss and keep skin feeling soft.
